So glad you enjoyed the doughnuts, and even more so that you tried them with congee! It’s such a comforting combo.

I was keen to try it because of the tip that in china they are broken into pieces as an addition to congee. ( Which I make often now) Sure enough, congee is even more enjoyable with these easy to store and reheat doughnuts. Loving these new ways of cooking

In reply to Wei Guo.

Thanks Wei! My wife is Chinese so I am trying many Chinese Recipes year round, and especially now during the Chinese New Year. I didn’t use bread flour, and they turned out fantastically. I found that the overnight in the refrigerator version was much easier to handle. Thanks for posting this. I’ll try some of your other recipes! 謝謝。 馬克

Follow this recipe and you’ll get amazing homemade “Oil Fried Ghosts”! I’ve made it 2 times and both times they’ve turned out perfectly. The recipe explains everything well. Especially the sticky dough part. But it’s all okay, follow the instructions and it will turn out great!

Unfortunately this recipe isn’t suitable for air frying.

Thanks!
