I tried the sliced cucumber salad.I love it because you don’t use the seeds. I also love the flavors associated with Chinese cuisine. I prefer this over the American version of cucumber salad.

Thank you Lydia for trying out my recipes. Regarding the Option three, it isn’t a typo. It means to be light soy sauce and sugar. As I explained in the post: for option three, “Use light soy sauce to provide saltiness instead of salt. Together with soy sauce, sugar increases the umami taste of the dish.” Hope this helps!

Hi Wei! Under the recipe for Option three you say to mix soy sauce and “sugar” to rest 10 minutes then drain excess liquid. Do you mean soy sauce and “salt”? That is what it says in the extra notes before the recipe and seems to make more sense.

I made a raincoat salad, pity I can’t add a photo of my cucumber! So proud of my cutting 😀 Like with smashed cucumber salad I also added few more ingredients to make a light, healthy supper. Both dressings are great, I feel that the cucumber consumption in my house will grow dramatically 😉
